UFOs? Two Mysterious Objects Caught on Camera Flying Near the Moon

A TikTok user recently posted a video showing two potential UFOs floating near the Moon. The mysterious objects, which have prompted both speculation and amazement, come into view as the cameraman zooms in on the Moon in broad daylight.

In the video, we can see that both aircraft are white, with one object appearing notably smaller than the other. One object seems to remain static in the footage, which lasts about 30 seconds , while the other seemingly disappears behind the Moon.

Astronomers have completed a comprehensive examination of large asteroids that zoom near our planet, determining that Earth probably won't be struck by such an object for at least 1,000 years. 

You may not want to breathe a sigh of relief just yet, however: The newly completed catalog looks at near-Earth objects (NEOs) at least 0.6 miles (1 kilometer) wide and therefore doesn't rule out strikes from smaller, yet still potentially dangerous, asteroids .

Astronomers have observed a radiation belt outside the solar system for the first time, imaging high-energy particles trapped by a magnetic field around an ultra-cool dwarf star around 18 light-years from Earth.

Saturn has overtaken Jupiter as the planet with the most known moons in the solar system. Astronomers have announced a bumper crop of 62 new moons orbiting the ringed planet, pushing its total to well over 100.

Now, an international team of astronomers has handed the ringed planet the crown once again, with a huge haul of 62 new moons pushing it to a grand total of 145 – that's 50 more than Jupiter. And before you run to comments to tell us that 82 + 62 = 144, one extra moon was found in 2021.

NASA's Lunar Flashlight to Fly by Earth

This screenshot from NASA's Eyes on the Solar System 3D visualization tool shows Lunar Flashlight making its close approach with Earth late on May 16. The CubeSat will pass about 40,000 miles (65,000 kilometers) from our planet's surface over Brazil's east coast.

With its primary mission over, the CubeSat will zoom by Earth late Tuesday, May 16, and NASA's Eyes on the Solar System app will track it, providing a chance to say farewell.

NASA says airliner-sized asteroid to pass Earth on Tuesday | Washington Examiner

Despite this, there is little to no danger of the asteroid hitting Earth save for an unforeseen force knocking it off course.

A smaller 46-foot asteroid, around the size of a house, is set to make a near pass by Earth the same day. Though smaller, 2023 JO1 is estimated to pass within 1.86 million miles of Earth.

Ellison Onizuka: First Asian American Astronaut

U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Ellison Onizuka's may not be the first name you think of when you hear about space exploration. But he forged a lasting legacy after becoming the first Asian American to fly in space. 

Onizuka was born on June 24, 1946 in Kealakekua, Kona, Hawaii. He graduated from the University of Colorado with both his bachelors and masters in aerospace engineering.
