Hackers Win $105,000 for Reporting Critical Security Flaws in Sonos One Speakers

Multiple security flaws uncovered in Sonos One wireless speakers could be potentially exploited to achieve information disclosure and remote code execution, the Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) said in a report published last week.

The vulnerabilities were demonstrated by three different teams from Qrious Secure, STAR Labs, and DEVCORE at the Pwn2Own hacking contest held in Toronto late last year, netting them $105,000 in monetary rewards.

Humanoid Robots Are Coming of Age | WIRED

Today the descendants of those hapless robots are a lot more capable and graceful. Several startups are developing humanoids that they claim could, in just a few years, find employment in warehouses and factories.

Pratt says that if Darpa's challenge were run today, robots would be able to complete the challenges in about a quarter of the 50 minutes it took his robot to complete the course, with few accidents. "From a technical point of view, a lot of enabling technologies have popped up recently," he says.

A University of Michigan astronomer and his team are suggesting a new way to expand the search for habitable planets that takes into account a zone not previously considered: the space between the star and what’s called soot line in planet-forming disks.

Worlds that form in this region—a disk of dust rotating around a central star from which planets may be built—could have surfaces rich in volatile carbon compounds quite different from Earth’s.

Maritime Launch Services Inc. (NEO: MAXQ, OTCQB: MAXQF) announces today that its launch manifest on its medium class launch vehicles has been committed through the end of 2027.

With a recent multi-mission Agreement signed for launching client OTVs from a manufacturer in the EU, Maritime Launch has secured medium-class launch vehicle capacity on multiple missions on a rideshare and dedicated payload basis from Spaceport Nova Scotia from 2025 onwards.

AstroForge, the California-based startup that recently launched a space mining test aboard a SpaceX rideshare mission, is looking ahead toward a future in which all of the resources we need can be plucked out of the sky.

The firm recently sent its 6U CubeSat, called Brokkr-1, to space aboard SpaceX's rideshare Transporter-7 mission, on April 15.
