SAN FRANCISCO, June 1 (Reuters) - Hackers have stolen data from the systems of a number of users of the popular file transfer tool MOVEit Transfer, U.S. security researchers said on Thursday, one day after the maker of the software disclosed that a security flaw had been discovered.

Scientists recently discovered an asteroid that tags along with Earth during its yearly journey around the sun.
Dubbed 2023 FW13, the space rock is considered a "quasi-moon" or "quasi-satellite," meaning it orbits the sun in a similar time frame as Earth does, but is only slightly influenced by our planet’s gravitational pull.
Astronomers recently identified this quasi-moon, a space rock orbiting the sun nearly in tandem with Earth.… https://t.co/sBAEueu3VrSPACEdotcom (from NYC)Thu Jun 01 17:15:13 +0000 2023

Here's some uplifting news: Since about the year 2000, lighthouses have been given away to states, local governments, nonprofits and educational institutions in return for a promise of upkeep.
It reminds me of a deal years ago. The federal government sold missile silos, minus the missiles, to the lowest bidders. One guy snagged one for a dollar. I believe he made it into a subterranean house. I'm going to continue to believe that even if someone tells me it didn't happen.
Study Suggests Up To One Third Of Planets Could Be Habitable | SYFY WIRE
In SYFY's The Ark (streaming right now on Peacock !) a human crew boards an interstellar spaceship on a one-way trip to Proxima centauri. It's a small red dwarf, one of a binary pair approximately 4.2 light-years from here.
Because Proxima centauri is smaller and less luminous than the Sun, its habitable zone is much closer than ours. Proxima centauri b, the Earth-like planet the crew of the Ark One is headed for, orbits its star at a distance only about 5% the distance between the Earth and the Sun.

The first active-duty military pilot to come forward to Congress about his experience with so-called unexplained aerial phenomena is starting a first-of-its-kind nonprofit group to support other pilots who see things they can't explain, he said.
