Social media conspiracies blame coronavirus on 5G internet

Conspiracy theorists are infecting YouTube and Facebook with bogus theories that 5G mobile internet is responsible for the coronavirus.

One prominent anti-5G Facebook group has shared a number of erroneous posts, claiming 5G is the culprit behind a virus that has infected more than 80,000 people worldwide. Its creator, Dutch "UFO researcher" John Kuhles writes: "I challenge anyone to watch this video at least twice and claim there is nothing to it, [or] it is all a coincidence. Yeah right. Certainly not."

Mysterious lights seen over northeast El Paso were military flares, not UFOs - KVIA

EL PASO, Texas -- It's a bird, it's a plane... it's a UFO? No, it's just a U.S. Army training exercise organized out of Fort Bliss.

Military officials told ABC-7 on Tuesday that recent sightings of mysterious lights over the northeast El Paso skies at night had a very simple explanation - and one that doesn't involve extraterrestrials.

"The lights seen this past weekend are artillery flares," explained Gilbert Telles Jr., a public affairs specialist at Fort Bliss. "A unit had been training that early evening at the Doña Ana training ranges."

Astronomer explains strange object seen in night sky across Queensland, NT and NSW - ABC News

An astronomer has explained a strange, bright light that appeared in skies over the Northern Territory and Queensland on Monday night, leaving hundreds of people mystified.

Shauna Royes spotted the light over the Julia Creek caravan park in remote north-west Queensland about 7.30pm on Monday night and put a call out to the ABC North West Facebook page to figure out what it was.

"We were actually at the caravan park having a bush dinner for not-for-profit organisations, so there was about 160 people, and one of the tourists looked up and said, 'look'," the McKinlay Shire Councillor said.
