ALAMOGORDO — Those outside enjoying the night sky on Thursday may have seen a string of lights moving across the sky mostly in a line.
That line of moving lights lasted for at least half an hour and scattered out of the line toward the end of their visibility.
Alamogordo residents who saw the strange lights may have wondered whether to expect a visit from little green men in flying saucers.

Support Astronomer Candace Gray said the observatory is currently not open due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and as such, night staff were not on site to notice the event.
