Despite the obvious merits of childhood Space Camp, what’s the best way to train an astronaut?
Flight simulation tools have come a long way, but it appears NASA may begin taking another approach to help its astronauts adapt to space.
We’ve all heard a lot about the concept of space tourism , and while we’re still not exactly close to launching our friends and neighbors into parts unknown, there could be an application for training NASA’s talent by including them in sub-orbital flights. In fact, NASA head Jim Bridenstine recently confirmed that the agency was considering the use of private companies, like Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin , for these efforts.

Space exploration’s next frontier: Remote-controlled robonauts - News - Bartlesville
As Japan’s second female astronaut to fly up in the Space Shuttle Discovery, Naoko Yamazaki didn’t expect to spend a quarter of her time dusting, feeding mice and doing other menial jobs.
“There’s a need for robots that can help us,” Yamazaki, 49, said. “Eventually, we should be able to do those tasks remotely or have them take over altogether.”
As NASA opens up the International Space Station to private businesses and embarks on the Artemis mission to send astronauts back to the moon, there’s a growing recognition of the need to keep spending under control, even as space-exploration projects grow increasingly complex.
Coronavirus package | Talk of space travel a cruel joke amid migrant workers' crisis, says
The Congress on Saturday asked if opening up defence and aerospace to foreign companies is the Narendra Modi government's idea of Atmanirbhar Bharat or self-reliant India .

It is a "cruel joke" to talk about space exploration ventures when millions of migrant workers are trying to reach their native places on foot, the party said in response to the fourth tranche of announcements made by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Why is NASA sending astronauts back to space?
For the first time in nine years, NASA will be directly involved sending American astronauts into space.
On May 27, Douglas G. Hurley and Robert L. Behnken will takeoff from Florida's Kennedy Space Center, and will dock with the International Space Station the following day.
Since 2011, NASA has relied on Russian spacecrafts to send American astronauts to the International Space Station since NASA retired its remaining Space Shuttle fleet.

Space Travel, ISRO Facilities Opened To Private Sector, Says Nirmala Sitharaman
Start-ups and private firms will get to use facilities and assets of the Indian Space Research Organisation or IRSO to improve their capacities, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said today as she announced reforms for eight sectors amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"India already has the benefit of an extraordinary institution like ISRO, but now lots of private players are also coming in with innovative space technology. We will allow private players to benefit from ISRO's assets and give them a level-playing field to boost India's space sector further," Ms Sitharaman said.

This Animation Of Transparent Rockets Is Ideal For Space Travel And Fuel Consumption Fetishists
This is such a wonderfully simple idea that I can't believe it hasn't been done before. It's four well-known launch vehicles, launching, but with transparent bodies so you can see the amount of fuel and oxidizer in them, and how rapidly it gets consumed. It's almost hypnotizing.
The four rockets are, from left to right, a Saturn V moon rocket, a Space Shuttle stack, a Space X Falcon Heavy rocket, and the upcoming NASA Space Launch System (SLS) launcher.
Richard Branson cashed in $41 million of Virgin Galactic stock last week to lift his ailing
Richard Branson dumped nearly 2.6 million Virgin Galactic shares to aid his struggling travel and leisure ventures.

The sales arrive days after Virgin Group announced plans to sell as many as 25 million Virgin Galactic shares to aid ventures slammed by the coronavirus pandemic. Much of the group's leisure, holiday, and travel businesses have seen an "unprecedented impact" from the health crisis, the company said in a statement.
