In case you are keeping track:

Don't expect NASA's 1st Artemis astronauts to drive on the moon in a fancy lunar carThese moon

Last year, NASA set itself an ambitious goal : Send astronauts to walk on the moon in 2024. Now, the agency is busy planning what astronauts will do during those excursions.

Science isn't the limiting factor, of course: Scientists have been itching to get back to the moon's surface for ages. But discussions surrounding the Artemis program have tended to focus on the challenges that need to be tackled before the first crewed landing in 2024 or on the agency's long-term vision for the moon, rather than on the practical details of taking advantage of early moonwalk opportunities.

See the moon's shadow on Earth from the 'ring of fire' solar eclipse in amazing space views |

A "ring of fire" solar eclipse crossed over Africa and Asia this weekend, and the view from space was spectacular.

"Super cool view of the Annular Solar Eclipse which passed by our starboard side as we flew over China this morning," NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy wrote on Twitter . "A pretty neat way to wake up on Father's Day morning! Hoping all of the dads in the world have a wonderful day!"

A "ring of fire" or annular eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and Earth. But, unlike during a total solar eclipse, the moon isn't close enough to Earth to block out all of the sun's visible disk.

See a sunset on Uranus, other worlds (and a moon, too) in this NASA simulator | Space

If you watched the sun set on Uranus , the sky would start off as a brilliant blue and fade into deeper blues with striking turquoise notes. So how do we know that?

Geronimo Villanueva, a planetary scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, visualized what sunsets look like on Uranus (at the 1-minute, 43-second mark in the video above), as well as on Earth, Mars, Venus and Saturn's largest moon Titan while building a computer modeling tool for a potential future mission to Uranus.

Scientists explain 'strange asymmetry' mystery for the far side of moon in new research

50 years after the Apollo 11 mission, Neil Armstrong's sons Mark and Rick describe the day when their father walked on the Moon.

Scientists have revealed new details about the far side of the moon , shedding light on its early history.

Also known as the dark side of the moon, the far side of Earth’s natural satellite has long been a source of fascination. The first humans to see the far side of the moon were the crew of Apollo 8 . During a series of historic lunar orbits,  NASA  astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and Bill Anders became the first to see the side of the Moon that faces away from Earth.
