The orbit of asteroid 2011 ES4 is still not entirely known. Our knowledge of it might improve sometime today – or early tomorrow – if it is “recovered” by astronomers. It’s expected to pass within the moon’s orbit, possibly as close as 0.19 lunar distances.
The orbit of asteroid 2011 ES4 (in white) is slightly similar to Earth’s (in blue) but inclined in relation to our planet’s orbit. The space rock completes an orbit around the sun every 416 days. It nearly intercepts our orbit on September 1, 2020, as seen in this illustration, via NASA/ JPL.

Asteroid Set to Fly By Earth Before Election Day Poses No Threat, NASA Says – NBC 5
In a tweet Sunday, NASA said an asteroid expected to pass by close to Earth on Nov. 2 , a day before the upcoming presidential election, "poses no threat" to the planet.
According to NASA Asteroid Watch, which is part of the agency's Planetary Defense Coordination Office that detects and tracks objects in space that may threaten Earth, this rock is nothing to worry about.
Asteroid 2018VP1 is very small, approx. 6.5 feet, and poses no threat to Earth! It currently has a 0.41% chance of entering our planet's atmosphere, but if it did, it would disintegrate due to its extremely small size.
NASA asteroid mission Lucy begins spacecraft assembly before 2021 launch | Space
NASA's Lucy spacecraft is one step closer to getting up close and personal with a host of strange space rocks as assembly begins.
Lucy will make an ambitious journey across the asteroid belt out to Jupiter's neighborhood, studying a total of eight different space rocks over nearly a decade. But before the spacecraft can begin its trip at the launchpad, currently scheduled for October 2021, it needs to become, well, a spacecraft. And, thanks to a recent milestone permitting integration of the instruments and main vehicle, that's exactly what will happen next.
Election eve asteroid may be heading for Earth. Don't panic. | Astronomy.com
Social media around the world lit up over the weekend, discussing the possibility that an asteroid (known as 2018 VP₁) could crash into Earth on November 2.
It seemed only fitting. What better way to round off a year that has seen catastrophic floods, explosions, fires, and storms – and, of course, a global pandemic?
Our story begins a couple of years ago, on November 3, 2018. That night, theZwicky Transient Facility at Palomar Observatory in Southern California discovered a faint new “near-Earth asteroid” – an object whose orbit can approach, or cross, that of our planet.
And here's another article:

All we need now is an asteroid coming at us | The Sky Guy
An appropriate ending to 2020? An asteroid known as 2018 VP1 has been in the news and on social media lately because some believe it may hit the Earth. Not only that, it is predicted to do so on Nov. 2, the day before the presidential election.
2018 VP1 has a 1 in 240 chance of hitting us. Even if it does hit the Earth, 2018 VP1 would most likely burn up upon entering the atmosphere because it's only about seven feet in diameter. It'd be really cool to watch, though.
Luciano: Could asteroid hit Peoria? Well, it is 2020 - News - Journal Star - Peoria, IL
That’s the cover story in the latest edition of the Weekly World News. Its massive headline bellows, "Asteroid to hit Earth on Election Day?! Scientists say it could hit Russia OR Peoria."

But for real, and as reported last week around the globe, NASA says a car-sized asteroid has a 0.41% chance of slamming into the planet the day before the presidential election. So, you might want to opt for a mail-in ballot.
However, there’s another asteroid — can you believe it? — headed for Earth the very next day, possibly to pound Peoria. That’s the upcoming scoop from the Weekly World News, which touts itself as "The World’s Only Reliable News" source.
