People gathered at Space View Park in Titusville to witness the liftoff in person Thursday morning, including Lauren Surratt, who drove from Orlando to see her first launch in person with her husband and 3-year-old daughter, Kara.
"It was very exciting and this was her first time being able to see as well," Surratt said of her young daughter.

Commander Chris Cassidy of NASA wrapped up science rack swap work that he began on Monday. He finished moving and reinstalling three advanced science facilities, known as EXPRESS racks, in three different lab modules. The rack exchanges will support future experiments being delivered on an upcoming Cygnus resupply mission from Northrop Grumman.
Afterward, Cassidy collected water samples from the potable water dispenser for analysis on Earth and on the station. The veteran astronaut also inspected U.S. module hatches and replaced pipes in the orbiting lab's restroom, known as the Waster and Hygiene Compartment.

China launched the newest satellite in its Gaofen-series high-definition Earth-observation network on Monday afternoon.
The Gaofen 11-02, the second in the Gaofen 11 fleet, was lifted atop a Long March 4B carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi province, according to a statement by the State-owned space contractor China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp.
The satellite, developed and built by the company's China Academy of Space Technology, is tasked with providing images and data to a wide range of operations such as land surveying, urban construction planning, agricultural forecasting and disaster prevention and relief, and will also provide information support for the Belt and Road Initiative and China's national defense, the statement said.
