American politics is increasingly about dueling geographies. Democrats have become the party of the nation’s cities, while the Republican Party finds its base in rural, small town and low-density exurban America, places of less extreme class divisions than the big cities, but also with less diversity and a smaller share of the population.
Yet the political fulcrum of 2020 won’t be found in these competing universes — but in suburbia.
Quite a lot has been going on:
Their view: Your count matters in census | Times Leader
The 2020 census data collection phase now ends on Sept. 30, a full month earlier than anticipated to permit the commencement of census data processing.
Now more than ever, we need to ensure that all in our community are counted in the 2020 Census. An accurate census count is critical to obtaining the full access to federal, state and local funding, which is based on population counts. It is also the federal mechanism to determine the size and scope of how our county and community are represented in Congress.

With the upheavals of 2020, it seems the word schedule has gone by the wayside, unless it pertains to nature.
Like many organizations the wind has been taken out of the Joe Ford Nature Center. The Centers activities have been put on hold and we are not able to do for the community. However, that has not stopped outdoor work and for the month of August there has been trail work getting accomplished.

These are the reported sightings. Note that sightings are sometimes reported months or years later, and these numbers may go up over time.

Massive Siberian craters could be tied to climate change | News | napavalleyregister.com
YAMAL PENINSULA, Russia — A Russian TV crew flying over the Siberian tundra this summer spotted a massive crater 30 meters (100 feet) deep and 20 meters wide — striking in its size, symmetry and the explosive force of nature that it must have taken to have created it.
Scientists are not sure exactly how the huge hole, which is at least the ninth spotted in the region since 2013, formed. Initial theories floated when the first crater was discovered near an oil and gas field in the Yamal Peninsula in northwest Siberia included a meteorite impact, a UFO landing and the collapse of a secret underground military storage facility.
