New Picture Book!

"Clay's letters are packed with imagery and they share real experiences…that Anderson's young readers can look forward to having in their futures." - Barbara Morgan , NASA Astronaut (retired)

Starting with a letter to his mother on Flight Day 3 and ending with the mission's conclusion on Flight Day 152, Anderson's correspondence not only shares his experiences and details processes but also demonstrates how letter writing can help reduce the sense of isolation felt over long periods of time not only by astronauts, but by isolated members of our society as well.

NASA Selects 21 Research Proposals to Advance Human Space Exploration

NASA's Human Research Program will fund 21 proposals to help answer questions about astronaut health and performance during future long-duration missions beyond low-Earth orbit. The selected proposals will investigate biological, physiological, and behavioral adaptations to spaceflight. The 21 selected projects will contribute to NASA's long-term plans, which include crewed missions to the Moon and Mars.

* * *

The Human Research Program works to address the practical problems of spaceflight that impact astronaut health, and its research may provide knowledge and technologies that could improve human health and performance during space exploration and aid the development of potential countermeasures for problems experienced during space travel. The organization's goals are to help astronauts complete their challenging missions successfully and to preserve their long-term health.

SpaceX Starship: Stunning fan render draws the attention of Elon Musk

The Starship , the ship designed to send humans to the Moon and Mars , will cut a dramatic silhouette as it launches into the night sky.

We don't know precisely what Starship will look like once it is complete. But the rocket's impressive design has captured fans' imaginations.

A new rendering has captured, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's attention, too. Produced by Sweden-based Erik Corshammar, who goes by the name " ErcXspace " on Twitter, the render shows the stainless-steel ship lifting off with the help of the Super Heavy booster, its shiny exterior glistening in the light. The user captioned the image with "Starship Enterprise," a tongue-in-cheek reference to the infamous spaceship from the Star Trek series of the same name.

Supersonic jets and 12-metre deep pools: how Emirati astronauts will prepare for space travel at

Emirati astronauts are set to benefit from the same expert training undertaken by their American, European and Japanese contemporaries at Nasa facilities ahead of spaceflights.

An agreement struck between the US Space Agency and Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) will prepare four Emirati astronauts for future long duration missions involving complex tasks.

Maj Hazza Al Mansouri, who became the first Emirati to soar into space last September, and his back-up astronaut for the International Space Station journey, Dr Sultan Al Neyadi, are already well versed in the rigorous regime required for such missions.
