The Pentagon on Monday released three declassified videos that show US navy pilots encountering what appear to be unidentified flying objects.
"After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena," the statement said.

Last week, the Pentagon released three videos captured by infrared cameras on U.S. Navy jets that seem to show mysterious "aerial phenomena".
Recorded during training flights in 2004 and 2015, they show unidentified flying objects moving so quickly that they amaze the pilots watching them.
The videos had previously been leaked and acknowledged as real by the Navy and reported on by media outlets, but they have now been declassified to clarify that they are real.

However, according to the committee's report, "there is no unified, comprehensive process" for collecting information on unidentified aerial phenomena, "despite the potential threat."
The committee instructed the Director of National Intelligence and other agency heads to submit a report within 180 days with a number of details about the ONI's investigation. The report must include details about what the federal government knows about "intrusions" into restricted U.S. airspace and other unidentified flying objects, as well as a plan to firm up intelligence collection and sharing on the subject.

Pennsylvanians haven't reported sightings at anywhere near the rate of the top reporting city in the country. Residents of Gila Bend, Arizona, about 470 miles west of Roswell, New Mexico, since 1914 have reported UFOs at a rate of 1,193.89 per 100,000 people.
Pennsylvania's top reporting city, West Chester, has seen a rate of 154.63 UFO sighting reports per 100,000 people in that same period.
The Insights team at TruePeopleSearch , an online people-searching service, did an analysis of the National UFO Reporting Center's database of more than 80,000 unidentified flying object reports from 1910-2014 in the U.S. and Canada to come up with rates that could be compared across cities and similar areas.

When the US Department of Defense released three declassified videos of "unexplained aerial phenomena" at the end of April, the Pentagon said it wanted to "clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real".
The videos, which had already been 'leaked' in 2007 and 2017, included a 2004 clip filmed by two US Navy fighter pilots which showed a round object hovering above the water, about 100 miles (160 km) out into the Pacific Ocean.
