The 6-year-old boy was found hiding in an attic above the garage in his family's house in Fort Collins, Colo. His parents' story — that they feared he was trapped inside the balloon as it floated away from their backyard — appeared to unravel that night in a CNN interview in which the boy, Falcon, said that "we did this for the show."

On Wednesday, Gov. Jared Polis of Colorado granted full and unconditional pardons to Falcon's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, who had been accused of concocting a hoax to generate interest in a potential reality TV show.

LINCOLN, Neb. >> Franz Wagner had 20 points and No. 19 Michigan scored 10 straight points early in the second half to pull away from Nebraska in an 80-69 victory Friday.

Nebraska put together an 11-2 run, highlighted by a steal and breakaway dunk by Trey McGowens, and cut the Michigan lead to 64-60 on McGowens' free throws with 6:20 left.

EAST LANSING, Mich. — D'Mitrk Trice had to play on the road Christmas Day and still got to celebrate one of his best games with his family in the house.

Trice scored a season-high 29 points, lifting No. 9 Wisconsin to an 85-76 win over No. 12 Michigan State.

Trice's parents, older brother, Travis, and his grandma were among the dozens of fans in the stands. The family used to cheer for the Spartans when his older brother, Travis, played for Tom Izzo from 2011-15.

Pilots report close encounters with UFO over Arizona: 'Something just passed over us' -

Two pilots on different aircraft reported having close encounters with a mysterious object flying high above Arizona last month, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The sightings occurred within minutes of each other on the afternoon of Feb. 24, some 40,000 feet above southern Arizona near the New Mexico border. ABC News obtained the audio recording of the conversation between the pilots and the Albuquerque Air Route Traffic Control Center, released by the FAA. The audio recording was first reported by The War Zone , part of Time Inc.'s The Drive.

But amid all that, the thought of interplanetary war is almost comforting. At least it would be a change of pace.

And this year, the U.S. government came as close as it's ever come to admitting extraterrestrials exist. Over the summer, the New York Times claimed the Pentagon's Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force may start releasing information on the UFO sightings it's apparently studied for years.
