China's first Mars exploration mission, Tianwen-1, will arrive in orbit at the Red Planet on Feb. 10, 2021 .
Tianwen-1 consists of an orbiter, a lander and a rover. The Tianwen-1 rover is scheduled to deploy to the Martian surface in May, when it will touch down in Utopia Planitia , a large plain that is part of the biggest impact basin on Mars.

NASA Mars Perseverance rover: What to expect on landing day - CNET
This won't be like a rocket launch where we get to see every detail as it's happening. We will get NASA commentary and updates, views from mission control, and hopefully some images not too long after landing. It will be a must-watch event for space fans.

If all goes well, Perseverance will end up standing on the surface of Mars. "The really hard part is to soft land and not crash land, and then to deploy the moving parts," said Gorman. Perseverance is not alone on the trip. It also carries a helicopter named Ingenuity in its belly. Ingenuity will be unleashed later in the mission.
Sols 3020-3021: Saying Goodbye to the Fractured Intermediate Unit – NASA's Mars Exploration
Today we’re doing another touch-and-go, fitting in a little bit of everything. And while we are planning for tomorrow on Mars, the science team is also busily analyzing the results of the triboelectric experiment that Curiosity did over the weekend (see the sol 3017 blog for details), looking at the images like the upside-down MALHI (shown), which are both beautiful and important for science.
First up in the plan is contact science with MAHLI and APXS on a bedrock target named “Lunas,” as part of our regular tracking of bedrock composition and changes. The target was a little tough to pick in order to avoid some discolored areas and the veins and try to get a good representation of the bedrock itself.

On Tuesday, a test flight of SpaceX's Starship, a huge next-generation spacecraft that Elon Musk, the founder and chief executive of the private rocket company, dreams of one day sending to Mars, came to an explosive end.
That brief flight, to an altitude of about 6 miles and then back to a landing pad, appeared to again demonstrate how the mammoth rocket would tip over on its side as it descended in a controlled belly flop back toward a landing.

The IBeA research group from the University of the Basque Country's Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, is participating in NASA's Mars2020 space mission, which is scheduled to touch down on Mars in February this year. Specifically, the group has participated in constructing and verifying the chemical homogeneity of the templates included on the calibration card of the SuperCam instrument mounted on the Perseverance.
