UFO sightings: U.S. Navy drafts guidelines to report - The Washington Post

A recent uptick in sightings of unidentified flying objects — or as the military calls them, "unexplained aerial phenomena" — prompted the Navy to draft formal procedures for pilots to document encounters, a corrective measure that former officials say is long overdue.

As first reported by POLITICO , these intrusions have been happening on a regular basis since 2014. Recently, unidentified aircraft have entered military-designated airspace as often as multiple times per month, Joseph Gradisher, spokesman for office of the deputy chief of naval operations for information warfare, told The Washington Post on Wednesday.

Interstellar object 'Oumuamua almost definitely not aliens, we think | New Scientist

Astronomers spotted 'Oumuamua in October 2017, three days after it made its closest approach to Earth and more than a month after it flew past the sun. The asteroid's trajectory made it clear that it must just be passing through from beyond our solar system, rather than originating here.

It is a weird object: it's likely cigar-shaped, at least six times as long as it is wide, and tumbling end over end every eight hours. Its shape and spin may be related to its origin. Researchers have suggested that it could be a shard of a planet that got too close to its star and was ripped apart, the shreds tossed out of the planetary system. Alternatively, interstellar dust may have ground it down into its unusual shape over the course the journey to our solar system.

Clear Shots of 'UFO' Spotted Above Freeway on Outskirts of Los Angeles

We got another UFO sighting on our hands here in L.A., folks -- but this one stands alone, as it offers some the best clear shots we've seen of what appears ... well, you make the call.

An eyewitness shot these photos last Saturday while heading south on the 101 Freeway, just outside of Thousand Oaks as she was approaching Westlake Village around sunset. We're told she was on her phone when she saw this thing hovering in the sky, flying in the same direction she was heading ... with a group of lights trailing behind it.

Tic-Tac UFO reappeared in 2013, flying object spotted in New York very similar to the one that

The infamous tic-tac UFO that baffled US Navy officials a few years ago has apparently reappeared in the United States. An image apparently captured from Owego, New York, shows an unknown flying object in the skies, and the shape of this UFO seems very familiar to the vessel that perplexed US Navy officials and the Pentagon which resulted in the launch of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).

The image captured in 2013 has been released by Scott C Waring on his website UFO Sightings Daily. In his recent website post, Waring claimed that two UFOs were spotted in New York in 2013, and one of them seems very similar to the tic-tac UFO.
