The first powered flight on Mars is slated for Monday. It's a tissue box sized helicopter that will hover in the super thin Martian atmosphere, take some pictures and, hopefully, land safely.

Sols 3092-3093: Preparing to Drill! – NASA's Mars Exploration Program
Curiosity is ready to begin the drilling campaign on the "Bardou" drill target on top of "Mont Mercou!" The first day of this weekend's plan will consist of acquiring passive spectra on this drill target as well as additional context imaging for future targeting efforts. Later in the afternoon, Curiosity will deploy her arm to maneuver MAHLI into position for imaging.

Owner Todd Anderson said his decision to close the Le Mars Beauty College, 138 Central Ave. N.E., was a difficult one to make. Enrollment for the spring semester had dropped to four students. Anderson said the school needed to have 12-16 students to survive.
