On Monday (June 7), NASA's Juno probe zoomed within just 645 miles (1,038 kilometers) of Jupiter's enormous satellite Ganymede , which is bigger than the planet Mercury. It was the closest any probe had come to Ganymede since May 2000, when NASA's Galileo spacecraft got within about 620 miles (1,000 km) of the moon's icy surface.
It'll take some time to receive and process all the data from Monday's encounter , but we're already getting a taste: The first two photos from the flyby have come down to Earth, and NASA posted them online Tuesday (June 8).

It is argued in this paper that migration of an entire biological population or even a small part of a population is virtually impossible, but in any event, far more difficult than remaining in one's home solar system where the problem of continued survival can best be solved. This leads to the conclusion that sub-giants, red giants, planetary nebula, and white dwarfs are the best possible candidate targets for SETI observations. Search strategies are suggested.

'Earthgrazer' fireball may have come from outside the solar system | Metro News
A meteor that blazed through the skies over Brazil last month may have been a visitor from another solar system .
The space rock flashed through the night sky above Rio Grande do Sul on May 30 and came close enough to be classed as an 'Earthgrazer' .
Even more importantly, if it did originate in another solar system, it would only be the third such object ever recorded.
But according to Brazil's Meteor Watch Network (BRAMON), the speed and trajectory of this fireball suggest it came from interstellar space.
