Book a $50 million trip to space with a cosmic travel agency
Booking a flight has always meant a seat on an airplane, but now, if you have the money, you can book yourself a flight to space on a rocket.
“We’re travel agents to the stars! We’re out of this world,” joked Roman Chiporukha, CEO of Roman & Erica, Inc .
Chiporukha just booked a client a ticket to travel 220 miles above Earth, up to the International Space Station.
Thomas Jefferson University To Conduct Research Projects on International Space Station –
Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia is taking part in the first-ever private mission to the International Space Station.
The Rakia space mission selected three projects from Jefferson that will study the impact of space travel on the human body and mind. The mission, which will include a total of 44 projects, is scheduled to launch in early 2022.
The mission will be the first flight of an entirely private group of people -- tourists, not NASA astronauts -- to travel to the International Space Station. Four space tourists will be on board.

Nap Quest: How Suspended Animation Could Fuel Space Exploration – Now.
In space, no one can hear you sleep — but it’s possible that alarms could one day wake astronauts on alien worlds hundreds or thousands of light years away. This is the promise and potential of suspended animation, sometimes called human hibernation or “cryosleep.” While it’s still (mostly) the stuff of science fiction, new advancements in snooze-related science could turn this into a tired-and-true method for space exploration.
The best thing about the universe? It’s huge. There’s always something new to discover, from cotton candy planets to six-star solar systems and supermassive black holes.
Analytics firm says prices for space tourism too high: Travel Weekly
As companies like Virgin Galactic, SpaceX and Blue Origin inch closer to launching their long-delayed plans for space tourism, one travel analytics firm is questioning the long-term viability of the ultraexclusive, ultrapricey and literally out of this world adventures.
Initial demand is high. Virgin Galactic, for instance, has sold more than 600 seats at $200,000 and higher on future flights of its spacecraft Unity. Prices on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin are expected to be similar, although bids for a seat on its first manned flight of its New Shepard spacecraft, scheduled for July 20, have hit $2.8 million. And Space X is selling $55 million trips to the International Space Station.
Worm astronauts will help us safely send humans on deep space missions - BBC Science Focus
Hundreds of tiny worms are set to blast off to the International Space Station (ISS) to help scientists understand more about human muscle loss and how to prevent it.
The nematode worm species, known as Caenorhabditis elegans , will be flown to the ISS on Thursday 3 June as part of a new project involving UK scientists.
The hope is that the research could also help shed light on developing new treatments for muscular dystrophies – a group of inherited genetic conditions that gradually cause the muscles to weaken.

She eventually moved to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) and joined the Office of Commercial Space Transportation, rising to the position of chief of staff. With a move from the DoT into the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 1995, she was soon named the head of that office and an associate administrator of the FAA.
