NASA detects water vapor on Jupiter's Ganymede — the largest moon in the

According to NASA , the water vapor on Ganymede forms when ice from the moon's surface transitions from solid to gas, skipping the liquid state, also known as sublimation. 

Researchers compared two 1998 observations of Ganymede with another series of observations from 2018. And they found a discrepancy in the decades-old data.

The Hubble Space Telescope recently discovered water vapour around Jupiter's moon Ganymede  - the largest moon in our solar system.

Solar System Planetary Walk to be held Wednesday, July 28 - DOWNBEACH

VENTNOR – Sustainable Downbeach volunteers will be holding a second Solar System Planetary Walk 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 28 on the Ventnor City boardwalk. The walk starts “under the sun" on the boardwalk between between New Haven and Newport avenues.

Sustainable Downbeach member Steve Jasiecki and NASA Solar System Ambassador Michelle Stella Riordan created the display, which is designed to scale, allowing participants to visualize the distance between the sun and other planets in the Solar System.

4.6 billion-year-old meteorite found in horseshoe footprint | Space

A crumbling hunk of rock found in a field in England is a rare meteorite from the earliest days of the solar system , dating back about 4.6 billion years.

The meteorite was found in Gloucestershire in March by Derek Robson, a resident of Loughborough, England, and the director of astrochemistry at the East Anglian Astrophysical Research Organisation (EAARO).

SwRI-led PUNCH mission advances toward 2023 launch

On July 23, 2021, the Polarimeter to UNify the Corona and Heliosphere (PUNCH) mission achieved an important milestone, passing its latest NASA review and entering the final mission design phase with a new launch-readiness target of October 2023.

"With PUNCH we will finally be able to see directly the connection between the star at the center of our solar system, and the solar wind that immerses our planet and gives rise to space weather here on Earth," says SwRI's Dr. Craig DeForest, the mission's principal investigator.

Town considers solar panels for dispatch center | | lakecountyexam.com

Lakeview Town Council at its Tuesday, July 13, meeting decided to hold a work session in August about the possibility of building a solar system on the top of the Fire/EMS building in downtown Lakeview.

Town of Lakeview Finance Dir. Shelley Batty and Town of Lakeview Mgr. Michele Parry presented a proposal from EcoSolar and Electric, a company based in Klamath Falls that installs solar systems on commercial and government buildings.
