FRUITA, Colo. (KJCT) - The historic moon Farm in Fruita has a new owner. The acquisition has been in the works for a few years but Grand Valley Equine Assisted Learning Center will officially take over in September.
The Moons came to Mesa county in 1954 and from there they slowly started hosting field trips. At that time there were only three buildings and one horse to ride.

Kopernik moon project earns Eagle Scout honor for Apalachin teen
Visitors to the Kopernik Observatory and Science Center can learn more about how the moon affects tides, thanks to the efforts and hard work of new Eagle Scout Anthony Dudinyak, of Apalachin.
Dudinyak was one of five members of Vestal Boy Scout Troop 225 to earn their Eagle Scout awards last month. The Eagle Scout is the highest award for the Boy Scouts of America. The other new Eagle Scouts are Jason Kretzmer, Aaron Finch, Garrett Plessinger and Michael Tait.
