Vacation Bible School was last week and I’m over the moon. Morning coffee in hand, I’m reflecting and relishing many memories we made.
The week launched with inflatables, popcorn, cotton candy, and a shaved ice truck. The smells screamed “Carnival!” The snacks were great but the best part was the laughter. And it was contagious!
Moon mantle mystery may shed light on habitable planet evolution | Space
The moon's complex geologic history could act as a pointer to understand other rocky worlds in the universe, including those that are potentially habitable, according to a new pair of research papers.
The NASA-backed studies are based upon data from the agency's long-running Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) — which has spent the past dozen years mapping the moon in high resolution — along with old data from the retired NASA Lunar Prospector and Indian Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft
The moon may never actually have had a strong magnetic field | New Scientist
Despite being made of the same stuff as our planet, the moon may never have had a strong magnetic field like Earth’s
Fresh analysis of moon rocks collected by Apollo missions reveals that our only natural satellite may never have had a strong magnetic field, as has been believed since geological samples were first returned to Earth.

EarthSky | Water vapor on Ganymede, Jupiter's large moon
Scientists have found the first evidence of water vapor on Ganymede, a world orbiting Jupiter and the largest and most massive moon in our solar system. They said this discovery is a step toward understanding the habitability of moons orbiting giant planets.
The researchers made the discovery with the help of archival data from the Hubble Space Telescope , together with some new data. They published their findings on July 26, 2021, in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Astronomy .
