Larger Minority in U.S. Says Some UFOs Are Alien Spacecraft

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- More Americans are taking UFOs seriously than just two years ago. When asked which of two theories better explains UFO sightings, 41% of adults now believe some UFOs involve alien spacecraft from other planets, up eight points from 33% in 2019.

Hundreds saw a red light in Topeka's sky in 1897. Was it a UFO?

Hundreds saw a strange red light that appeared in the sky above Topeka on the evening of March 27, 1897, the Topeka Daily Capital reported the next day on its front page.

That sighting came four months after the San Francisco Call in late 1896 published a drawing of a mystery airship it reported had moved slowly over Sacramento, Calif., at a height of about 1,000 feet.

What happened? I leave town for a couple of days and return to, what can only be described as, fall-like weather? There is a chill in the air and I'm not sure I'm happy about it. It felt like someone turned off the summer switch.

I noticed as we were driving home that some of the leaves had started to change colours. I wanted to think it was early because it has been so hot and dry this year but it seems as if it might just be a sign that summer is starting to fade into fall.
