The U.S. Space Force has detected a mysterious object orbiting in parallel with China's new Shijian-21 spacecraft, according to an initial report from SpaceNews .
And, since it might be moving under its own power, we're still not clear on what it is. But we have several theories about what it might be, from a new space junk device to the latest exhibition of space war tactics.
RamSat taking photos while orbiting Earth
The culmination of the student efforts, guided by mentors, was RamSat, a miniature "CubeSat" satellite named after the RMS mascot and now cruising in outer space.
Starting in 2016, mentors for the students were recruited from ORNL and the Y-12 National Security Complex. Other recruits included parents and David Andrews, a ham radio operator.
Space Log: China's orbiting hair salon goes into business - CGTN
Three Chinese astronauts, or taikonauts – Ye Guangfu, Zhai Zhigang and Wang Yaping – used clippers to trim their hair aboard the Tianhe core module. The clippers were specially made for taikonauts and can collect trimmings while cutting hair.
The taikonauts will stay in orbit for six months, setting a new record for China's crewed space mission duration.

China’s first female spacewalker helps outfit space station robotic arm – Spaceflight
Astronauts Zhai Zhigang and Wang Yaping, the first Chinese woman to perform a spacewalk, stepped outside China's space station Sunday for an excursion lasting more than six hours to ready the orbiting lab's robotic arm for operations.
The astronauts are more than three weeks into a planned six-month expedition on the Chinese space station. The Shenzhou 13 mission will break the record for the longest Chinese human spaceflight, which was set at three months on the Shenzhou 12 mission that ended in September.
NASA can facilitate the commercial space station race | TheHill
Bridenstine suggested that Congress fund LEO space commercialization efforts at $2 billion a year. This figure is over and above other NASA priorities, such as the Artemis return to the moon program. Thus far, neither the Biden administration nor Congress have been that generous.
Nevertheless, Ars Technica reports that at least three candidates for a commercial successor to the International Space Station exist, with more expected to follow.

EarthSky | DART mission to hit and move an asteroid
NASA will soon launch its first planetary defense test mission, called DART (Double Asteroid Redirect Test). The launch window will open on November 24, 2021. The goal of the DART mission is to strike a small asteroid and minutely change its orbit.
DART’s target asteroid is a moonlet of a larger asteroid. The large asteroid is Didymos , 2,500 feet (780 m) in diameter. Its companion, Didymos B (or, sometimes, Dimorphos) is 525 feet (160 m) in diameter.
Pandemic lockdowns reduced greenhouse gas levels in some areas, satellite views show | Space
Satellite data shows small but highly specific decreases in atmospheric carbon dioxide due to pandemic-related lockdowns, a new study shows.
While climate scientists warn the temporary lockdowns were not nearly enough to make a dent in the growing threat of global climate change , satellite tech did show drops of 0.14 to 0.62 parts per million in specific zones between February and May 2020.
Major Endorsement For New Space Mission To Find ‘Earth 2.0’ – Eurasia Review
A major new space telescope searching for 'Earth 2.0' – to succeed Hubble and the soon-to-be-launched James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) – is one step closer to reality.
The Large Ultraviolet Optical Infrared Surveyor (LUVOIR) is a leading mission concept to meet the recommendations of the long-awaited Astro2020 Decadal Survey, which identifies three 'priority scientific areas' for investment in astronomy and astrophysics in the USA over the next 10 years and
