A new moon - labelled 'the Cold Moon' - is set to rise on December 4. The name summarises the onset of the winter season in the northern hemisphere and is said to have been passed down from Indigenous American groups.
It will be visible above the horizon for longer given that it's a 'high' moon as well as a 'cold' one.
