The moon meets up with Mercury and Saturn early Monday morning | Space

You may be able to watch the moon cluster up with ringed Saturn and fleeting Mercury on Monday (Feb. 28), but it will be a considerable challenge.

The three worlds will be clustered extra-close to the southeastern horizon as the sun is rising. Saturn is at magnitude 0.7 and Mercury at a brighter -0.1. (For perspective, most people can see stars down to magnitude 6 in dark-sky conditions.)

NASA's Roman telescope could spot Earth-like planets | Digital Trends

The James Webb Space Telescope might be grabbing all the headlines right now, but NASA has big plans for another space-based telescope too: The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.

Roman will be armed with a coronagraph instrument which is designed to block out light from very bright objects like stars to allow observation of the planets around them, opening the possibility of directly imaging planets.

Skywatch: Pairs of planets will come together in series of stunning conjunctions | Honolulu

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured the tattered remains of a supernova explosion known as Cassiopeia A in the Milky Way galaxy. Astronomers at Hawaii observatories are also monitoring supernovae, with some surprising insights.

Kekaomakali'i (the Canoe Bailer) is now filling the western region of the sky. In this starline we can make out the stars that make up Kaheiheionakeiki, also well known as Orion the Hunter. Read more

See the moon align with Venus and Mars in Sunday's morning sky | Space

Bright Venus, red Mars and the crescent moon are all lining up for a sky show early in the morning Sunday (Feb. 27).

If you're up and available after 4 a.m. local time, be sure to head outside and look to the southeast. By the time the sun rises in New York City at 6:14 a.m., for example, the three worlds will be 19 degrees above the horizon and well visible above many buildings and ground obstacles.
