What if the same spacecraft studied mysterious icy bodies and the cosmos as well? | Space
Staring out into space is a time-tested technique for making long journeys pass more quickly, but not one often applied at the scale of the solar system.
That's exactly the approach a team of scientists have turned to in hopes of someday launching a mission to a family of strange, icy bodies called Centaurs. Researchers had proposed a mission to NASA in 2019 that would fly by two Centaurs in the agency's smaller planetary science mission class.
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope mirror surpasses expectations as alignment continues
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has completed another critical mirror alignment step and has released the highest resolution infrared image ever taken from space.
Less than two months ago, the James Webb Space Telescope took its first photos in space. The images were taken of the star HD84406 in the constellation Ursa Major and displayed Webb's 18 mirror segments, which were not yet aligned to create one clear image.
'Where's the research?' Why space institute IIST's tailor-made graduates don't stay at ISRO
Bengaluru: When the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) was founded in 2007, it was meant to launch a new generation of young space scientists into the control rooms of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The reality is turning out to be somewhat of a misfire.
