Harvard scientist wants to launch an investigation into alien technology at the bottom of Pacific ...

A controversial Harvard scientist says he wants to launch an investigation into a meteor that he believes is actually alien technology lying at the bottom of Pacific Ocean.

Last week, the US Space Command confirmed that a meteor that hit Earth in January 2014 did come from another solar system and is therefore the first known interstellar object.

Classed as a short-period comet, it was last seen in the inner solar system in 1986 and, before that, in 1910.

After receiving more than 1,000 suggestions from around the world, and a debate among the Observatory's staff, this newfound object was named Pluto – which was proposed by a young schoolgirl from Oxford ( Venetia Burney ).

NASA is Ready to try and fix Lucy's Unlatched Solar Panel - Universe Today

NASA’s Lucy spacecraft, currently on its way to the outer Solar System to study Jupiter’s Trojan asteroids, has a solar panel problem. Shortly after its launch last October, engineers determined that one of Lucy’s two solar panels failed to open completely.

Lucy’s round solar panels are designed to unfurl like a fan, pulled open by a motor that reels in a line attached to the panels’ ends.

Shadow of Jupiter's largest moon looms in magnificent new Juno photo | Space

Giant Jupiter and the shadow of its biggest moon, Ganymede, dominate the view in this latest image from the system based on a NASA spacecraft's data.

NASA's Juno mission whizzed close by the radiation-spewing planet for the 40th time on Feb. 25, with the resulting raw images of the encounter beamed home to Earth. There, citizen scientist Thomas Thomopoulos created this stunning view based on what was seen by the JunoCam instrument.
