Video Showing Jupiter's Size Compared to Other Planets Wows the Internet

An animation posted to Twitter has shocked social media users by showing the impressive size of Jupiter and just how rapidly the solar system's largest planet rotates.

The animation posted by planetary astronomer and science communicator, James O'Donoghue on Tuesday, shows all of the planets of the solar system dominated by the gas giant which is then dwarfed by our star, the Sun.

Planet Parade: Four planets with the moon align in night sky

A wonderful parade is lining up the heavens this week. Four planets–Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Saturn–will align in the same ecliptic plane of our solar system, making them seem as if they are in a straight line across the eastern horizon.

The alignment has been building for weeks and didn't just develop overnight. Venus, Mars and Saturn have been neighbors in the night sky since March. Jupiter joined the party in mid-April. The moon tags along for the last week of April.

With Five Planets In Pisces, Emotions May Be Running High

Just to give you an idea of the timeline we're working with, the moon will move into Aries on the 27th, so it won't be in Pisces very long. Venus will move out of Pisces and into Aries on May 2, Jupiter on May 10, and Mars on May 24.

Neptune, on the other hand, has a bit of a longer ride through this sign and will also go through a five-month retrograde period (beginning June 28) until it eventually moves into Aquarius on December 3.

Early-stage fundraising is a tale of two planets – TechCrunch

If you follow mainstream tech media, you could be forgiven for thinking that venture capital is a founders' market today after two years of record round sizes and outcomes.

There is some truth to this: VC had its biggest year in 2021 , more than doubling from 2020, which was already a record year for investments. Almost 400 new companies surpassed a $1 billion valuation in 2021, increasing total unicorn count by 69% in just a year.

How to find Mercury and the Pleiades in the sky, Skywatch 16 | wnep.com

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Skywatchers are in for a treat later this week. There's a three-day stretch with interesting things to see in both the morning and evening sky.

Our moon is in a waning crescent phase this week. That gives our Skywatchers the best view of the night sky, with no natural light pollution from our moon to drown out some of those fainter stars.
