Webb Space Telescope’s Cool View on How Stars and Planets Form

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is the next of NASA’s Great Observatories; following in the line of the Hubble Space Telescope, the Compton Gamma-ray Observatory, the Chandra X-ray Observatory, and the Spitzer Space Telescope.

Last week, the Webb team did a station-keeping thruster burn to maintain Webb’s position in orbit around the second Lagrange point.

How do planets form? A 'baby Jupiter' hundreds of light-years away offers new clues - Stuff

How do planets form? For many years scientists thought they understood this process by studying the one example we had access to: our own Solar System.

However, the discovery of planets around distant stars in the 1990s made it clear that the picture was much more complicated than we knew.

Kerbal Space Program 2 will let you crash into further away planets than ever before | Rock Paper ...

One of the most satisfying things in the first Kerbal Space Program was when you'd reached orbit, and could then start plotting courses and interceptions with other objects throughout its fictional solar system.

A new 15-minute video from its developers talks about the challenges of simulating interstellar travel - from the engine changes required to support such vast scale, to the reasons for even wanting to.
