James Webb Telescope to face final test in space - SCIENCE News

The James Webb Telescope will see the birth of our origins as it tries to answer the questions about how our universe came to being.

"During this final phase the Webb team and instrument scientists will test all the modes and operations for the four science instruments to measure their performance, calibration, and overall observatory operations," Nasa said in an update.

Sun fires off huge solar flare from new sunspot coming into view | Space

The active sun fired off a powerful X-class flare, the strongest our star experiences, on Tuesday (May 3), but not in the direction of Earth.

The solar flare peaked at 9:25 a.m. EDT (1325 GMT) and was caught in footage from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory , the agency tweeted.

China lays out big plans for its new Tiangong space station | Space

The details were revealed during an April 17 press conference , which was held a day after the return of the Shenzhou 13 astronauts after their national record-setting 182-day mission aboard Tiangong's core module Tianhe. 

The six crucial missions will start in May with a resupply mission followed by the six-month-long Shenzhou 14 crewed flight in June, according to Hao Chun, director of the China Manned Space Engineering Office (CMSEO).
