NASA will hold a media telecon on May 25, 2o22 at 3:00 pm ET to discuss the upcoming CAPSTONE launch to lunar orbit. CAPSTONE is currently scheduled for launch on June 6, 2022 by Rocket Lab from Launch Complex 1 on the Mahia Peninsla, New Zealand.

CAPSTONE is a cubesat that will be launched into a special orbit around the Moon — a Near Rectilinear Halo Orbit — that NASA will use for its Gateway space station for the Artemis program. The cubesat will validate innovative navigation technologies and verify orbital dynamics.

US military awards contracts for nuclear spacecraft propulsion | The Independent

The US military has awarded two contracts for the development of nuclear space propulsion, with a goal to see orbital prototypes fly by 2027.

The Defense Innovation Unit of the Pentagon , which works to apply commercial technologies to military problems, awarded the contracts to Avalanche Energy and Ultra Safe Nuclear, both of Seattle Washington.
