NASA promises James Webb Space Telescope commissioning update Monday | Space

Since its launch Dec. 25, 2021, the James Webb Space Telescope has been focused on deploying and aligning its complicated equipment.

The next major thermal testing phase involves deliberately swinging the telescope between hotter and colder conditions to see how well the infrared instruments and mirrors respond to temperature changes.

Watch SpaceX's Crew-3 astronauts return from space station | Space

The SpaceX Dragon capsule Endurance is poised to splash down off the coast of Florida at 12:43 a.m. EDT (0443 GMT) to wrap up a six-month mission to the International Space Station . You can watch the landing in the video feed at the top of this page, courtesy of NASA TV.

Riding aboard the Dragon capsule are Crew-3 commander Raja Chari, pilot Thomas Marshburn and mission specialist Kayla Barron — all of NASA — alongside mission specialist Matthias Maurer of the European Space Agency.

USPS to deploy new postage stamp for James Webb Space Telescope | Space

Having been successfully deployed into a stable orbit between Earth and the sun, NASA's James Webb Space Telescope is now ready to enter a route closer to home: the United States' mail system.

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) on Tuesday (May 3) announced it will be issuing a postage stamp in honor of the new observatory later this year.

Perseverance rover records solar eclipse on Mars – Spaceflight Now

The zoomable camera on NASA’s Perseverance rover on Mars recently captured a dramatic view of Phobos, the largest of the Red Planet’s two potato-shaped moons, crossing the face of the sun in a solar eclipse lasting a little more than 40 seconds.

The Mastcam-Z instrument on the Perseverance rover recorded the solar eclipse April 2, according to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
