China launches 2 rockets in just over 24 hours | Space

China is continuing its quest to carry out more than 50 orbital launches this year with a pair of missions lifting off within just over 24 hours of each other.

Commercial launch service provider Expace launched a Kuaizhou-1A rocket from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert in northwest China using a transport erector launcher (TEL) at 10:08 p.m. EDT on June 21 (0208 GMT; 10:08 a.m. Beijing time, June 22).

NASA's Voyager engineers are devising clever ways to preserve our farthest mission

Despite recent headlines, NASA's venerable Voyager craft isn't shutting down quite yet — but in two months, the team that manages the iconic mission will make decisions about what to do with dwindling power.

Earlier this month Scientific American published a story about the aging spacecraft, catching the attention of several outlets who proceeded to cover the mission team's ongoing mitigation efforts as though Voyager was entering a somber new phase.

Sun Prairie teen selected for space internship | Features | hngnews.com
