Five of the world's tiniest robots

Fast forward several decades into the 21st century, when I started my career as a young neuroscience researcher meddling with robotics. I thought of robots as machines that range from the size of a pet animal to big devices designed to carry out heavy-duty chores.

Robots in Disguise - by JD Flynn - The Pillar

Yesterday was the feast of St. Anthony of Padua, a 13th century Franciscan saint to whom I have never had a particular devotion.

I mention that because when I was writing this newsletter on Monday, I mistakenly thought that Anthony's feast was today (Tuesday) and not yesterday (Monday). I read, and thought, and wrote a fair amount about him before I realized my mistake.

Cloud labs: where robots do the research

As a chemistry PhD student, Dmytro Kolodieznyi was used to running experiments. But in early 2018, his research advisers asked him to take part in one run by robots instead.

They wanted Kolodieznyi, who was developing intracellular fluorescent probes at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to spend a month attempting to recreate his research at Emerald Cloud Lab (ECL).

Grubhub Gears Up for Campus Delivery Robots | PYMNTS.com

As food delivery businesses look to make the economics of the model more efficient, Grubhub is rolling out autonomous delivery at college campuses.

The aggregator announced Monday (June 13) that, after a spring pilot test at Ohio State University, the company is making its partnership with self-driving robotics company Cartken available to colleges across the country. The aggregator has existing partnerships with over 250 U.S.

Kids build robots at this summer camp - WDEF

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – At Chattanooga State Community College, a group of children is learning to code and assemble robots.

Robo-Think is a STEM based summer camp in which children are taking part in activities such as coding a video game.

This morning, News 12 visited the camp as they were assembling robotic fans and other robots of their own creation.
