NASA preps new spacecraft heat shield for Mars landings | Mashable

When a spacecraft returns to Earth, the relatively thick atmosphere helps slow down that speeding bullet. But on Mars, the aerodynamics are not so friendly.

"I call it the anti-Goldilocks atmosphere," said Jim Reuter, NASA associate administrator for the space technology mission directorate. "It's thick enough that it causes you problems and not thin enough to help you."

Dispur to assist small tea gardens via space technology - Sentinelassam

GUWAHATI: The State Government has taken up an ambitious plan to provide beneficial input and advice by using space technology to ensure the welfare of around 1.5 lakh small tea gardens of the State.

The project will be implemented by the Assam State Space Application Centre in collaboration with the North East Space Application Centre. The target is to complete the project within two years.

ORION AST and Ethiopian Ministry Sign MoU for Space Industry Development

The Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MINT) and the US Satellite Company ORION Applied Science and Technology (Orion AST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop Ethiopia’s capacity in the space industry.

During the occasion, the Ethiopian minister said the government is working to support the economy. "MINT is responsible for supporting the economic development of (the country) through innovation, technology, research and digitization.

It's often said that our mobile phones are far more powerful than the computers used to put Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon in 1969. In fairness, that's to be expected. Half a century is a long time in technology.

China's commercial space telescope Yangwang-1 completes an optical survey of the whole sky. /Origin Space

The telescope, launched into orbit from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on June 11, 2021, was developed by Shenzhen-based Origin Space Technology Co., Ltd. for asteroid resource exploration and research.
