Relativity Space has not launched a single rocket, and Impulse Space has never tested one of its thrusters in space. Nevertheless, on Tuesday, the two California-based companies declared their intention to launch an ambitious mission that will land on the surface of Mars in fewer than three years.

20 years of space flames and microgravity liquids for key equipment | Space

In space, no one wants to deal with the cleanup from liquids, flames or other messy science experiments.

That's why NASA shipped a special facility to the International Space Station to do a deep dive on these complex topics, 20 years ago. The Microgravity Science Glovebox, or MSG, celebrated its anniversary on July 8.

New Plasma Analyzer Flies on Rocketship Endurance | Science Mission Directorate

Endurance carried a new type of space plasma analyzer with extremely fine energy resolution to make the first measurements of Earth's electrical potential. This technology could also enable new tools to measure plasmas in the laboratory and in industrial applications.

China's space agency could send a mission to Neptune — major discoveries await
