An award-winning science fiction author gives his tips for storytelling | Space

Space.com caught up with Choi recently to discuss his new book and everything from " Star Trek " to Mars to how to use space as an inspiration for compelling storytelling. Read on to see what he said.

Eric Choi has twice won the Aurora Award, one of the top prizes of Canadian science fiction. His new anthology of 15 short stories discusses matters of "hard science", ranging from exploring Mars to dealing with disaster.

NASA's Webb Space Telescope Sheds Light on Galaxy Evolution and Black Holes

By NASA August 21, 2022 An enormous mosaic of Stephan's Quintet is the largest image to date from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, covering about one-fifth of the Moon's diameter. It contains over 150 million pixels and is constructed from almost 1,000 separate image files.

Webb studied the active galactic nucleus in great detail with the Near-Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec) and Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI).

SpaceX Dragon cargo ship returns to Earth from space station | Space

A SpaceX Dragon cargo ship returned to Earth with an ocean splashdown on Saturday (Aug. 20) carrying tons of science gear from the International Space Station. 

The uncrewed Dragon space capsule splashed down off the coast of Florida on time at 2:53 p.m. EDT (1953 GMT) after just over a month at the space station.

Chiang Rai college boldly going to open 'space lab'

A pilot space laboratory will be set up at Wiang Pa Pao Technical College in Chiang Rai to promote space science and develop as a space learning centre in the North, according to the House committee on communications, telecommunications, and digital economy and society.

Settapong Malisuwan, vice chair of the panel, said the project is a collaborative effort between the House committee and the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Gistda) to stimulate interest in space science and technology.

Philippine cube satellites complete orbit around Earth - Asia News NetworkAsia News Network

ESA - Introducing Huginn

ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen of Denmark is set to return to the International Space Station for his first long-duration Station mission. With only one year left before his launch in mid-2023, a name for the mission has been chosen: Huginn.

This name, chosen by Andreas, originates in Norse mythology with Huginn and Muninn – two raven accomplices of the god Odin. Together, the two symbolise the human mind, with Huginn representing thought, and Muninn, memory.
