Asteroid flybys have been a frequent occurrence these past few weeks with over 35 asteroids just missing Earth by a close distance. People who are interested in astronomy can take out their telescopes to watch these celestial bodies fly past Earth.
According to NASA, Asteroid 2022 QR will fly closely past Earth today. The asteroid is expected to make its closest approach at 17:07 UTC time. Asteroid 2022 QR is nearly 42 feet, which is as big as a bus, travelling at nearly 31,000 kilometers per hour.

The mission will provide important data to help better prepare for an asteroid that might pose an impact hazard to Earth, NASA said
Huge Crater Suggests a Second Asteroid Hit Earth at the End of the Dinosaurs
Researchers say they've discovered a large impact crater on the Atlantic seafloor that appears to be 66 million years old. That means whatever made this crater would have hit Earth around the same time as the rock that famously slammed into the Yucatán Peninsula, ending the reign of the dinosaurs.
NASA DART spacecraft will slam into an asteroid in September
NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) will be the first mission to test planetary defense technology in space.
While Dimorphos poses no danger to Earth, the test will allow NASA to assess whether a spacecraft impact can be used to alter the trajectory of a hypothetical hazardous asteroid on a collision course with Earth.
Glad to see Artemis 1 is going to do an extra 40,000 miles beyond the moon. Because the Silent One has been wait… https://t.co/gckcUhmkos joestaten (from Seattle) Wed Aug 24 20:58:29 +0000 2022
