KENOSHA — Inspired by the entrepreneurial culture he's brought to the space sciences program, Carthage College has chosen Professor Kevin Crosby to infuse that same spirit of innovation throughout the institution.

"Most people think of entrepreneurship as starting your own company, which is certainly something we'll cultivate — and that's just the starting point," Crosby said. "Entrepreneurial thinking breeds success for everyone.

No damage in Philippines from Chinese rocket that fell from space - SCIENCE News

A day after the remains of a Chinese rocket streaked through the skies over the Philippines, crashing into the Indian Ocean, officials on Monday reported no damage from the debris.

Marc Talampas, an official with the Philippine Space Agency, told AP that authorities have been advised to be on the lookout for the rocket debris, which may have splashed down into seawaters off Palawan province.

Blue Origin targets Aug 4 to launch six tourists to space - SCIENCE News

After successfully completing two spaceflights, Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin is targeting August 4 to launch its third tourism flight of the year. The New Shepard spacecraft will carry a full manifest of six paying customers to what has been described as brief joyrides to space.

The sixth human spaceflight for the company will lift off from Launch Site One on Thursday at 8:30 AM CDT (6:50 pm IST), carrying the crew to space on the flight that will last just over 10 minutes, giving them an opportunity to experience weightlessness in zero gravity, beyond Earth.

Astronaut shows off Battlestar Galactica Starbuck cosplay | Space

An astronaut on the International Space Station has once again brought cosplay to the cosmos in a new video message to sci-fi fans while dressed as Starbuck from the TV series "Battlestar Galactica."

Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti of the European Space Agency (ESA) shared the pre-recorded video from the International Space Station with crowds attending FedCon — a science fiction and fantasy conversion held in Germany back in early June.

Russia's space ambitions grow despite diplomatic tensions with West

The confirmation of the long-mooted move comes as ties unravel between the Kremlin and the West over Moscow's military intervention in Ukraine and several rounds of devastating sanctions against Russia, including its space sector.
