The first flurry of images from the James Webb Space Telescope have given the world a glimpse of the birth of the universe. The telescope is a new era in space observation.

The James Webb Space Telescope is the world's largest and most powerful space-based optical telescope. Whereas its predecessor, the Hubble Space Telescope circled the Earth, the James Webb Space Telescope orbits the sun.

UCF Confers 400,000th Degree | University of Central Florida News

For as long as she can remember, Laura Segarra '22 has always been drawn to space, science and math. She still has her elementary school books with colorful illustrations of the universe. She laughs about almost catching the kitchen on fire during a combustion experiment.

In grade school she did math puzzles for fun.  In high school, she tinkered with her own car, curious about how it operated.

Europe's major X-ray space telescope may get scaled back | Space

The European Space Agency (ESA) is considering ways to redesign a major X-ray space telescope after a number of ESA member states have backed out of the project.

Athena , or Advanced Telescope for High-Energy Astrophysics, was selected by ESA in 2014 and is intended to launch to Sun-Earth Lagrangian point 2, a spot about 1 million miles (1.5 million kilometers) away from Earth on the planet's night side.

Food in space: What do astronauts eat? | Space

The first meal astronauts eat before venturing into space is traditionally a breakfast of steak and eggs. It's one of NASA's many food traditions, but for this particular breakfast at least, there was science behind the menu choice.

Steak and eggs washed down with orange juice, and notably, tea was served to the first American in space, Alan Shepard , on May 5, 1961, before his launch in Freedom 7.

Shenzhou 14 crew starts testing new space station module (video) | Space

China's Shenzhou 14 mission astronauts are getting the country's new space station module ready to host crews over the next decade.

Wentian launched on July 24 and docked with the Tianhe core module hours later, expanding China's Tiangong space station to two modules.
