Among them? Dinosaur footprints in Texas unearthed after a severe drought, World War II warships exposed in receding waters in Serbia, and centuries-old markings and etched stones resurfacing in the Elbe River.

Respondents to the ' What on Earth is the Value of Space? ' survey, the largest of its kind, say they value researching and finding new energy sources above even helping to solve climate change and finding essential resources.
The survey, commissioned by Inmarsat, the world leader in global, mobile satellite communications, spoke to 20,000 people across 11 countries, also finds people's attitudes varied depending on their country.
NASA Rocket Mission Launched to Test New X-ray Detector Technology | Space
On August 21st, a NASA-funded sounding rocket mission launched from White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. The goal of the mission was to test X-ray detector technologies for future missions by observing the remnants of an exploded star, supernova remnant Cassiopeia A – or Cas A.
The sounding rocket carried Micro-X: the High-Resolution Microcalorimeter X-ray Imaging experiment. Sounding rockets make brief, fifteen-minute voyages into space before falling back to the ground.
China tests rocket engine for moon landing as space race heats up
China has upped its game in the space race , testing a new rocket engine that is twice as powerful as its U.S. competitor.
The ground test was carried out with "complete success," the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation said Tuesday.
