The James Webb Space Telescope never disproved the Big Bang | Space

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has not disproved the Big Bang, despite an article about a pseudoscientific theory that went viral in August, and which mischaracterized quotes from an astrophysicist to create a false narrative that the Big Bang didn't happen.

Although the James Webb Space Telescope has only been conducting science operations for a few months, it has already made some iconic discoveries, including the detection of what could be some of the earliest galaxies ever seen , that existed just 200 million years after the Big Bang .

A Cosmic Tarantula, Caught by NASA's Webb

In this mosaic image stretching 340 light-years across, Webb's Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) displays the Tarantula Nebula star-forming region in a new light, including tens of thousands of never-before-seen young stars that were previously shrouded in cosmic dust.

The cycle of star formation is on display in this nearby nebula. Webb's MIRI instrument captures protostars nestled deep in clouds of gas and dust, still gathering mass.

2nd huge eruption from the sun hammers Venus | Space

Earth's sister planet Venus is experiencing a bout of extreme space weather this week after a giant sunspot, not visible from Earth, expelled an enormous plasma burst toward the scorching-hot planet.

The CME is the second to have hit Venus in a week; another one erupted from the sun on Wednesday (Aug. 30) and reached the planet three days later, just as the European Solar Orbiter spacecraft flew by .

Where no Egyptian has gone before - UND Today

Sara Sabry, the first Egyptian to reach space, is pursuing a doctorate in Aerospace Sciences at UND

If UND students share stories of what they did over the summer, Sara Sabry’s tale likely will top them all: She went into space.

Being the first Egyptian woman to visit space — the first Egyptian person to reach space, period — means a full schedule of appearances. Sabry, along with five other people, participated in Blue Origin's sixth manned spaceflight on Aug. 4, which launched from Texas.
