Mars satellite films amazing space scene in our solar system | Mashable

The European Space Agency recently released footage filmed this year by its Mars Express satellite, which has been snapping detailed views of the Red Planet for nearly two decades.

Peering into space beyond Mars, we can see the desert world's small, lumpy moon Deimos traveling through the foreground of the shot.

Human Garbage Will Pose a Huge Issue for Future Space Colonization of the Solar System

The next time you see a shooting star, there's a small chance it's complete garbage. That's not a knock on any meteors or comets out there. It's the truth.

It's not the most eco-friendly system for taking the space trash out, and it raises questions about what kind of impact we're creating by adding waste and gasses into an already strained atmosphere on Earth. But it's the only one we have right now.

Data suggests there are rippled structures at the boundary of the solar system

By analyzing data from all three sources, the researchers noted a sudden change in pressure exerted by the solar wind in 2014, and used the relatively short time scale of the event to study the shape of the heliopause and termination shock.

Since some of the atoms managed to escape into interstellar space and others were bounced back into the solar system, the researchers were able to use the data as a form of cosmic echolocation. When modeled, the researchers found that huge ripples were formed in the boundary areas.

Spooky NASA Webb Telescope Image Captures 'Fingerprint' of Rare Star System - CNET

The agency believes these hazy rings are the result of two stars, located just over 5,000 light-years from Earth, treading close enough for their stellar winds to share a kiss now and then. In essence, every time the stars' sparkly streams of gas intertwine, they form a dusty ring.

What's especially fascinating about these stellar memories is they allow us to calculate the passage of time.

Interstellar meteors may have come from supernovae | SYFY WIRE

In the 1953 science fiction film It Came From Outer Space , protagonists John Putnam and Ellen Fields witness a meteor impact near their home town. At least, they think it's a meteor impact.

If interstellar aliens have ever visited our planet for real, they're doing a good job of hiding it. We have, however, been visited by objects from beyond our solar system and we're only recently figuring out how to identify them.
