Star Duo Forms ‘Fingerprint’ in Space, NASA’s Webb Finds

A new image shows at least 17 dust rings created by a rare type of star and its companion locked in a celestial dance.

A new image from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope reveals a remarkable cosmic sight: at least 17 concentric dust rings emanating from a pair of stars. Located just over 5,000 light-years from Earth, the duo is collectively known as Wolf-Rayet 140.

NASA's planet-hunting mission is in safe mode after a computer glitch hit the spacecraft on Monday (Oct. 10).

NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite ( TESS ) mission launched in 2018 to survey the sky looking for exoplanets. TESS was designed to operate for two years but has continued observations, identifying more than 250 confirmed exoplanets and thousands of candidate worlds.

UAE's Moon rover passes final tests before heading to outer space | Al Arabiya English

The United Arab Emirate's Rashid rover – which is to be sent to regions of the Moon unexplored by humans – has cleared all tests, pushing the mission one step closer to its launch into outer space.

As part of the Emirates Lunar Mission, the 10-kilogram robotic explorer – which has been built in the UAE by Emirati engineers working with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) - will send back images and collect data on lunar soil and dust once it reaches the Red Planet.

Perseverance Mars rover hits snag while grabbing 14th rock sample | Space

Perseverance , which is exploring Jezero Crater on Mars , drilled out and collected its 14th Martian rock sample over the weekend (Oct. 8 and Oct. 9) but was unable to seal it away in its designated tube.

Perseverance is collecting these Martian samples for a future return to Earth ; they could arrive here as early as 2033.
