These Magnetic Robots Can Selectively Assemble Themselves to Achieve Complex Forms - Hackster.io

Each of these robots is a small cube about an inch to a side. They do not contain any electronic components or means of actuation, which makes the "robot" moniker rather tenuous. That brings the cost for each unit down to a mere 23 cents.

This is cool, but has limited utility as it is. However, imagine if each cube were smaller — much smaller. A factory could churn on tiny cubes and program them with mixel images.

The Science Of Sunlight And Shadows

For 4.5 billion years, the Sun has generated energy to power the solar system. Visible light is the most obvious form of that energy. Every day the Earth turns, and the new day starts with sunlight. Here on Earth, the Sun's light causes day and night, shadows, eclipses, and seasons.

The Earth is moving in space, so the light from the Sun doesn't shine on it the same way every minute of every day. Over a year, the planet revolves around the Sun, moving along its elliptical orbit .

Finding Earth-Like Planets Outside Our Solar System

It’s hard to remember that there was a time in the not-so-distant past when we didn’t know if planets existed outside our solar system. Scientists were pretty sure other stars harbored worlds, but we had no idea how to find them.

To date, NASA has confirmed the existence of 5,000 exoplanets , but we know at this point our galaxy probably harbors way more than that — likely in the hundreds of billions. But the question is how many Earths are there?

Mars Retrograde 2022: What to Know, How to Prepare

Still celebrating the recentish end of Mercury retrograde ? Not so fast, my friend. All planets go retrograde at some point or another (excluding the sun and moon , which are technically considered luminaries in astrology as opposed to planets, but I digress!), and Mars is up next.

In astrology, Mars is associated with action, determination, libido, and aggression. In fact, each day of the week correlates with a particular planet, and, because Mars goes with Tuesday, legend has it that many historic wars were begun on this fateful day.

Many military UFO reports are just foreign spying or airborne trash | The Seattle Times

WASHINGTON — Government officials believe that surveillance operations by foreign powers and weather balloons or other airborne clutter explain most recent incidents of unidentified aerial phenomenon — government-speak for UFOs — as well as many episodes in past years.

The sightings have puzzled the Pentagon and intelligence agencies for years, fueling theories about visiting space aliens and spying by a hostile nation using advanced technology. But government officials say many of the incidents have far more ordinary explanations.
