NASA Grants Funding to 14 Research Studies on Space Technology; Michael LaPointe Quoted

The space agency said Tuesday that the awarded endeavors, which are all in their conceptual development stage, include research on fluidic telescopes, space exploration, long-distance lunar characterization, manufacturing techniques and power systems, among others. 

NIAC researchers will look into the feasibility of the Phase 1 projects, map out necessary technology development, identify potential mitigating factors and search for transition opportunities to materialize the concepts. 10 out of the 14 researchers are first-time NIAC funding recipients.

Falcon Heavy launch of USSF-67 slips to Sunday - NASASpaceFlight.com

The latest Falcon Heavy mission has slipped 24 hours to Sunday, Jan. 15, with a window opening at 5:56 PM EST (22:56 UTC).

The flight, designated USSF–67 (United States Space Force 67), will carry two payloads for the Space Force directly into geostationary orbit (GEO) from LC-39A.

2023 CES Offers Storage/Memory That Enable Advanced Consumer Applications

The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is always an interesting display of technology, some very much consumer oriented and many other technologies of a more industrial or enterprise nature.

Although the show was much better attended in attendees and exhibitors than the 2022 show (about 45,000 attendees), it was still down with an estimated 115,000 attendees from the 2020 CES (the last pre-pandemic show) that had 171,000 attendees.
