2023 Planetary Alignment: 5 Planets Will Soon Be Visible in the Night Sky – NBC Chicago

If you love all things astronomy, you'll most certainly want to pay close attention to the sky in the coming weeks.

For one night, on March 28, five planets - Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, Uranus and Mars - will gather within a 50-degree sky sector - in what will be a rare astronomical phenomenon, according to the website Starwalk.

Five planets will be visible on March 28th: Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury and Uranus, according to StarWalk.

The large planet alignment set for March is a bigger deal because of the five planets being together. The planetary alignments are defined from mini to large, according to the website, with mini being three planets being in alignment and (large) being five.

Planets Might Protect their Water Until their Star Settles Down - Universe Today

Creating rocky planets is a messy, dangerous, hot business. Planetesimals accrete together, which creates heat and pressure on the newborn world. The nearby adolescent star bombards them with intense radiation.

Scientists at the University of Cambridge in the UK created a complex model that describes a world with most of its water locked deep below the surface, not in pools or oceans, but in rocks. Technically, it’s trapped in minerals deep beneath the surface.
