Jimmy Carter’s space policy and the saving of the space shuttle | The Hill

Carter’s single term in office is not known for any space initiatives. President  Kennedy launched America to the moon . President Nixon started the  space shuttle program . President Reagan initiated the program that began the  International Space Station .

For example, one of the “basic principles” for the Carter-era space program was “the exploration and use of outer space in support of the national well-being and policies of the United States.” That was nice insofar as it goes, but it lacked detail.

The Chinese balloon saga could be part of a new space race closer to Earth

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Back in March 2018, Chinese officials and key state scientists gathered in Beijing to celebrate the start of a new front in research: near space.

That's a part of airspace 60,000 to 330,000 feet from the ground, just before the beginning of outer space — and historically overlooked by militaries, until recently.

See SpaceX Crew-6's approach to space station in time-lapse video | Space

Early Friday morning (March 3), SpaceX's Dragon Endeavour spacecraft carrying the four astronauts of the Crew-6 mission approached the International Space Station (ISS).

The sounds of Kerbal Space Program 2 transform the game | Space
