£233m Space City Leicester launches on back of city's global reputation for space technology - ...

A new industrial zone called Space City has launched in Leicester to build on the city's growing reputation in the space sector, to breed fresh talent and attract more international businesses.

The space cluster takes in some £233 million of existing and planned buildings on land to the north of the city centre, with the aim of attracting millions of pounds of investment and attracting more cutting edge firms to the city.

OQ Technology to become world's largest 5G NB-IoT LEO-satellite operator - SpaceRef

OQ Technology, the world's first and only satellite operator of a 5G NB-IoT constellation, plans to grow its constellation from three to ten satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) this year. The move will turn the company into the largest 5G NB-IoT satellite operator in the world.

As DoD pivots to smaller satellites, Congress airdrops a big one into the budget - SpaceNews

The U.S. Defense Department's head of space acquisitions circulated a memo last fall calling for the Pentagon to embrace a faster, more commercial approach to building satellites.

At the top of Frank Calvelli's " Space Acquisition Tenets " list is to pivot away from billion-dollar behemoths that take a decade to build in favor of smaller spacecraft that can be delivered in under three years.
