If you are a budding astronomer or simply enjoy watching the sky through a telescope, you probably have an interest in all of the planets in our solar system. There are a total of eight planets , including Earth , making seven of the planets visible to us in the sky.
You may be thinking, "Wait a minute, I thought there were a total of nine planets!" Depending on your age, you may have grown up learning that there were a total of nine planets. This was the case before, but now there are only eight.
