NASA's Ames Research Center recently welcomed Dr. Hiroshi Yamakawa, the leader of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), for a productive discussion on space science and spaceflight. During the visit, Dr. Yamakawa was briefed on NASA's current spaceflight programs, including the Artemis lunar mission and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. He also had the opportunity to discuss JAXA's ongoing space exploration initiatives, such as the Hayabusa2 mission, which successfully landed on the asteroid Ryugu in 2018.
